Bio
Coach Daniel M. Salas is excited to take the helm of the women's soccer program at MiraCosta College, expressing gratitude to the athletic department for this opportunity. With a clear mission to engage both local and out-of-state student-athletes, Coach Salas aims to equip each player with the skills necessary to succeed on and off the field, ultimately sending high-functioning student-athletes into the world. His coaching philosophy centers around impacting and improving young lives through the beautiful game of soccer.
With a Bachelor of Arts in Physical Education from Point Loma Nazarene University and a USSF C coaching license, Coach Salas boasts an impressive playing history spanning 35 years, including stints at Surf SC Del Mar, Vista High School, Point Loma Nazarene University, and professional experience with Saprissa FC at the U17 and U23 levels. His coaching experience extends over 25 years at both college and high school levels, including roles at Point Loma Nazarene University, San Diego Christian College, and various high schools in the region. Additionally, he has dedicated 25 years to club soccer, contributing to programs such as Albion SD, Surf SD, City SC, and Breakers SC.
