The MiraCosta women's basketball team is still finding themselves but tonight took a big step forward. After three quarters of back and forth with the Grossmont Griffins the Spartans played a strong fourth quarter to extend their lead and finish the game with a 68-55 final score. With the win MiraCosta improves to 3-2 in conference.
Acacia Denton and Cypree Stevens led the way, both scoring 19 points. Frida Caballero added 17 points in her first game back. Sophomore forward, Emmy Wiemann had a strong performance with eight rebounds and six steals.
The Spartans are next in action on Saturday at Cypress College.
