The MiraCosta women's basketball team was dominant in their 85-34 victory over Imperial Valley College. For the league leading Spartans it was their eigth consecutive win, improving them to 16-5 overall and 8-0 in conference play. MiraCosta was led in scoring by sophomore guard Chynna Cochran with 25 points but got strong contributions from Julia Iman (17), Madison Rowe (12), McKena Stoeff (12) and Kiva Reyes (10).
Defensive the Spartans were strong, holding their opponents to just four points in the first quarter and 11 points in the first half.
On Friday MiraCosta will travel to Grossmont College to continue conference play, tipoff is set for 6PM.
