After a first half of solid team play the MiraCosta men's soccer team had positioned themselves to earn a win. However, after missing a penalty kick and then giving up a goal on the counter attack, the Spartans found themselves on the wrong side of a 0-1 score. The defense was anchored by sophomore Michael Cruz and freshman Colin Baehman and was impressive throughout the course of the game.
MiraCosta has a busy week ahead with a game on the road on Tuesday at Santa Ana College at 4pm and then they return home on Friday against Rio Hondo College at 4:30pm.
