MiraCosta Earns No. 1 Seed, Set to Host Southern Regional Playoffs

The MiraCosta College women's beach volleyball team has earned the No. 1 seed in the Southern Region and will host the upcoming 3C2A Southern California Regional Playoffs, putting the Spartans in prime position to continue their postseason run. MiraCosta will welcome Ventura College and Mt. San Antonio College to campus, with a berth to the 3C2A State Championships on the line. The top six teams in the state will advance to compete for a championship May 7–9 at Mt. San Antonio College.

The top seed comes as no surprise given the Spartans' dominant body of work this season. MiraCosta enters the postseason with a 21-4 overall record and a perfect 12-0 mark in Pacific Coast Athletic Conference (PCAC) play, capturing the conference title outright. Their only loss to a fellow community college came in a tightly contested 3-2 match against Northern California power Feather River.

MiraCosta's success has been fueled by both depth and top-end talent. Leading the way, the No. 1 pair of Kiara Keibel and Hailey Heflin earned PCAC Pair of the Year honors after an outstanding season. The duo further cemented their dominance by winning the PCAC Pairs Championship, a 35-team, single-elimination tournament featuring all seven conference programs.

The Spartans showcased their depth at the conference pairs tournament, placing three teams in the top eight and two teams in the semifinals. In recognition of their consistency across the lineup, all five MiraCosta pairs were named to the All-PCAC Team—an impressive accomplishment that underscores the program's balance and strength from top to bottom.

Under the leadership of head coach Andrew Bennett and his staff, MiraCosta has continued to establish itself as one of the premier programs in the state. The Spartans are now aiming for their third consecutive appearance at the 3C2A State Championships, a goal that is within reach as they prepare to compete on their home courts.

With momentum, depth, and home-court advantage on their side, MiraCosta will look to take the next step and secure their place among California's elite once again.
