OCEANSIDE, Calif. — MiraCosta College has been awarded the 2025-26 Chet DeVore Trophy, recognizing the Spartans as the most successful overall athletic program in the Pacific Coast Athletic Conference (PCAC).
The Chet DeVore Trophy is the conference's highest athletic honor and is awarded annually to the community college that achieves the greatest overall success across its men's and women's intercollegiate athletic programs. The award reflects excellence in competition, postseason achievement, and sustained success throughout the academic year.
MiraCosta's achievement was fueled by outstanding performances across multiple sports. Five of the college's six intercollegiate programs qualified for the 3C2A State Playoffs, demonstrating the breadth and consistency of success throughout the athletic department.
Leading the way were the Women's Basketball and Women's Beach Volleyball programs, both of which captured Pacific Coast Athletic Conference championships and advanced to their respective 3C2A State Championship tournaments, where each earned an impressive second-place finish.
The Spartans also received major contributions from Men's Soccer, which finished second in the conference standings and made a deep postseason run, and Women's Soccer, which also secured a second-place conference finish and earned a berth in the state playoffs.
"This award represents far more than wins and championships," said Patrick Conahan, Director of Athletics at MiraCosta College. "It reflects the dedication and commitment of our student-athletes, the leadership and hard work of our coaches, the tireless efforts of our support staff, and the tremendous support provided by our college leadership and departments across campus. This recognition belongs to the entire MiraCosta College community."
Throughout the 2025-26 academic year, MiraCosta student-athletes excelled both on the field and in the classroom while representing the college with pride, professionalism, and competitive excellence.
The Chet DeVore Trophy serves as a testament to the collective effort that drives MiraCosta Athletics and underscores the college's commitment to providing an exceptional student-athlete experience.
